GOD'S MESSAGES

HEY! I MADE IT! Thought for beginners again I would send this.(until I get the picture thing down). LOLOLO (An email that Mike received)

Several years ago, my husband was invited to spend the weekend at his employer’s home. The boss was very wealthy, with a home on the waterway and cars costing more than our house.

The first day and evening went well, and I was delighted to have this rare glimpse into how the very wealthy live. My husband’s boss was a generous host and took us to the most extravagant restaurants.

As we were about to enter an exclusive restaurant on evening, the boss was walking slightly ahead of us when he suddenly stopped looking down at the pavement for a long, silent moment. There was nothing on the ground except a few cigarette buts and a darkened old penny. The boss reached down, picked up the penny, held it up for a moment, smiled, then put it into his pocket as if he had found a great treasure.

I thought to myself , what need would this man have for a penny? Why did he even take the time to pick it up?

Throughout dinner the, the scene nagged at me until I finally commented that my daughter once had a coin collection and I wondered if he collected coins too?

A smile crept across the man’s face as he reached into his pocket and retrieved the penny and held it out to me. What was the point of this?

“Look at it”, he said, “read what it says”. Aloud I read, I read the words, ”United States of America.” “ No not that, read further.” “one cent” “No , keep reading”. “In God we Trust”. “Yes”! And? ….I asked? “And if I trust in God, the name of God is Holy even on a coin”. Whenever I see a coin I see that inscription. God drops a message right in frond of me to telling me to trust Him. Who am I to pass it by? I stop to see if my trust is in God at that moment. I pick up the coin in response to God, that I do trust in him and for a short time cherish it as if it were gold. I think it is God’s way of starting a conversation with me. Lucky for me God is patient and pennies are plentiful.! When I was out shopping today, I found a penny. I stopped and picked it up and realized that I had been worrying about a few things today. I read the words, In God we Trust, and had to laugh. Yes, God I got the message. It seems that lately I have found a number of pennies in the past few months. But then pennies are plentiful and God is patient.

If God had a refrigerator, your picture would be on it. If he had a wallet, your photo would be in it. He sends you flowers every spring. He sends you sunrises and sunsets every day. Face it God is crazy about you.

FUN & CRAZY HOLIDAYS! ON THE ROAD AGAIN!

Well, On Dec. 23rd we went from home to Brigham City, visiting David & Betsy. It was fun to see Charlie and Tyler, how they've grown and changed. Then on to visit Cindy and Kyle for about an hour, then on to Darrin and Mandy's for Christmas. The parents showed up this year, but there were some times we were wondering if they would escape like last year. Only this year instead of 15 stockings around the table, the table had only a bowl of sweets that Santa had left. I guess it was because of all those cookies Remy and Tate left for him. Becky, Jeff and family made it for Christmas Eve and Brady made if just after Breakfast on Christmas day.

We left about noon on Christmas to tend Cody and Tanner while Becky and Jeff went to a movie. Cody let us play with his puzzles and toys. We returned to Mandy & Darrin's just after supper, but in time to eat it.

In the meantime, Angie called saying that they would not be up because Ed needed the car for work. We returned home on Saturday, washed clothes, repacked and headed for New Mexico early Monday morning. I think we even made it in record time, since there was no one on the roads that early in the morning or Mike had a club foot. lol But they all liked their presents and sent some back, so they are here till someone comes to see us or we move on again. lol We took pictures of Heather doing her DDR, their crazy CP cat, they think won't last much longer, and their weird Chihuahua, that has a hurt leg and limps when he gets in trouble and on a diffrent leg each time. We celebrated Eddie's 13th birthday on Tuesday before we left for the trip back - before the snow came. Well, we found the snow in Cortez and it was with us till about Green River, but not too bad for driving.

Grandpa was a little sad about not having Grandma's 80th party he had tried to surprise her with, but I think it's just because he feels he might not be around for the next one.

Glad everyone had a great Christmas and we will see you on the next road trip heading north. Love Always,
Mom and Dad
